OVERVIEW
Menjangan & West Bali
Far from the crowds of southern Bali, the island's remote northwest offers an entirely different experience. West Bali National Park covers 190 square kilometres of monsoon forest, mangrove, savannah, and coral reef -- home to the endangered Bali starling, deer, and monkeys. Just offshore, Menjangan Island is widely regarded as Bali's finest diving and snorkeling destination. Crystal-clear waters, dramatic wall dives dropping 40+ metres, pristine coral gardens, and abundant marine life make this a paradise for underwater enthusiasts. The surrounding coastline of Pemuteran has developed a small but excellent collection of eco-conscious resorts that serve as bases for exploring this untouched corner of Bali.
This is Bali for nature lovers and divers who want to escape the crowds. Menjangan Island offers some of the best visibility and reef quality in all of Indonesia. West Bali National Park provides genuine wilderness experiences. And the journey here -- through traditional villages and volcanic landscapes -- is itself an adventure.
